SCHUSTERWORKS

To me, the camera is a forensic tool. It allows me to collect evidence and piece together a case. My subjects are often found where the world does not expect ordinary life to exist — though I enjoy a fashion show or a good tourist attraction as much as the next person.

On the fringe of normality, where the extraordinary has become ordinary, something true — whatever that may be — can become visible. That is where photography becomes most interesting to me.

I have been photographing since the 1990s. I am based in Munich and Bangkok.
