SCHUSTERWORKS

To me, the camera is a forensic tool. It allows me to collect evidence and piece together a case. My subjects are often found where the world does not expect ordinary life to exist — though I enjoy a fashion show or a good tourist attraction as much as the next person.

On the fringe of normality, where the extraordinary has become ordinary, something true, whatever that may be, can become visible. That is where photography becomes most interesting to me.

I have been photographing since the 1990s. I am based in Munich and Bangkok.
